Highland deputies arrest Jeramy Toutai for numerous car burglaries, identity theft & possession of stolen property

SUSPECT(S): Jeramy Toutai aka Jeremy Toutal, age 26 a resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at approximately 7:35 am, deputies from the Highland Police Department received a call regarding a male subject that was checking car doors and looking into yards. They arrived and located Jeramy Toutai, who was found to be on PRCS Probation and had a No Bail warrant for his arrest. A search of Toutai’s person revealed stolen property that included an abundance of stolen mail. During the investigation, deputies determined that Toutai burglarized numerous vehicles and residences in the east end of Highland and the north-east end of San Bernardino.
Jeramy Toutai is currently on AB109 PRCS Felony Probation for PC459 Burglary. As a part of Governor Jerry Brown’s Realignment Plan, or Assembly Bill 109, to comply with a U.S. Supreme Court decision requiring the state to lower its prison population by 30,000; offenders with non-violent, non-sexual and non-serious convictions will serve reduced sentences in county jails and be placed on local supervision through county Probation.
Some of the owners of the recovered property have not yet been identified. Recent theft victims are encouraged to contact the Highland Police Department to identify and claim property.
