The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

February 20th

0722 Hours: Officer Piquette investigated a burglary at Upward.net, 8800 Jarvis Avenue. The loss is a laptop computer.

0756 Hours: Officer Losier investigated a vehicle vandalism incident on the 35900 block of Bettencourt Street.

0947 Hours: Office Rivas investigated an auto burglary on the 6200 block of Joaquin Murieta Avenue. The loss is undetermined at this time.

0953 Hours: Officer Cervantes investigated the theft of a Green 1999 Honda Civic (CA License #4DZV058) on the 6400 block of Buena Vista Drive.

1039 Hours: Officer R. Johnson contacted and arrested a 22-year-old Fremont female for driving on a suspended license, expired registration and no proof of registration during a traffic stop at NewPark Mall. The suspect was issued a citation and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

1052 Hours: Officer Losier contacted and arrested a 38-year-old transient male for violation of a restraining order on the 5600 block of Portsmouth Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1246 Hours: Officer R. Johnson recovered a Kia Sepia that was reported stolen out of San Jose on the 6000 block of Stevenson Boulevard. The vehicle was released to the registered owner.

1618 Hours: Officer R. Johnson recovered a Honda Accord that was reported stolen out of Fremont on Locust Street at Sunset Avenue. The registered owner was notified of the recovery and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

2112 Hours: Officer Smith responded to T Mobile, 35202 Newark Boulevard to investigate the theft of an iPad and Galaxy Notepad.
