Earlier this evening the Sheboygan Police Department was made aware of rumors on Social Media that there may be an "active shooter" incident at Sheboygan South High School on 2/21/2018.  The Sheboygan Police Department took steps to investigate this rumor.  We learned from South High Administrators that on 2/20/2018, they were able to prevent a student from leaving the school which apparently caused other students to speculate on Social Media.  This led to unverified post by www.mysheboygan.com about a possible threat tomorrow, 2/21/2018.  This then caused more concern within the community.

School administrators are currently in the process of contacting all families affected to dispell this rumor.  We want the public to know that the Sheboyan Police Department and the Sheboygan Area School District treats threats to our students and schools seriously.
