Disturbance
Location: 3400 Block of Warburton Avenue
Police units responded to the 3400 block of Warburton Avenue on the report of several people fighting on the balcony of the apartment. Upon arrival, officers contacted approximately fifteen individuals all of whom had been drinking alcoholic beverages. An altercation broke out. This incident was documented; however no arrest(s) were made.

Monday, February 12, 2018
Vehicle Pursuit
Location: Myrtle Street and West Taylor Street, San Jose
An officer observed a suspicious vehicle traveling on De La Cruz Boulevard. The officer conducted a U-turn to investigate the situation and the suspect vehicle merged onto Highway 101. The officer then witnessed the vehicle "black out" and exit onto Highway 87 at a high rate of speed.
The officer initiated a vehicle enforcement stop. A passenger jumped out of the moving vehicle on Myrtle Street near Taylor Street. The officer stopped and detained the suspect. A search of the suspect revealed a controlled substance and burglary tools. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
Meanwhile, the suspect vehicle was located later unoccupied and crashed into a parked car at Villa Avenue. The remaining occupant(s) are outstanding.

Warrant Arrest
Location: 200 Block of Washington Street
An officer stopped at a business in the area of Washington Street and Poplar Street. As the officer exited the patrol vehicle, a male subject exited the business and approached the officer. The subject verbally identified himself and told the officer he is on probation.
A Records check revealed the suspect had four confirmed warrants. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Vandalism
Location: 1000 Block of El Camino Real
An unknown suspect(s) shattered a window to a business on the 1000 block of El Camino Real. A passer-by saw the broken window, heard an audible alarm and reported the situation to Public Safety Dispatchers.
A search of the premises did not yield any suspects or anything suspicious. Nothing was stolen. The total damage is estimated at $800.

Parole Violation
Location: Forest Avenue and Harold Avenue
An officer observed a vehicle driving on Forest Avenue near Cypress Avenue. The officer conducted a registration check and learned it was expired. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle occupied by a male driver and male passenger.
Upon contact, the driver admitted he did not have a driver’s license. A Records check revealed he had two active suspensions with good service and he was on Post Release Community Supervision.
The officer had the driver exit the vehicle and noticed he was wearing a San Jose Police Department (SJPD) Class A uniform and polished black leather boots. The uniform shirt had the shoulder patches removed, but an outline of the SJPD patch was visible. A search of his person yielded a controlled substance. He was arrested, consensually provided the police uniform to be booked into evidence and was transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
SCPD contacted the SJPD Watch Commander for further investigation.

Arson
Location: 1000 Block of Lafayette Street
An officer observed a large smoke cloud in the area of Lafayette Street and Lewis Street and began to drive in its direction to investigate. The officer arrived in conjunction with the Sana Clara Fire Department. The smoke was emanating from an enclosed area with a dumpster and several trash receptacles. A mattress was completely engulfed in flames, approximately 100’ from the closest building.
According to a witness, a female suspect started the fire and ran toward Homestead Road and Lafayette Street. The officer located a female matching the suspect description near the American Legion Hall on Homestead Road. The suspect had burn marks on her hands and admitted to setting the fire. She was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Driving Under the Influence
Location: 3300 Block of Monroe Street
Public Safety Dispatchers broadcast over the radio a possible intoxicated driver on the 3300 block of Monroe Street. The reporting party stated the car nearly struck a pedestrian, had two flat tires and came to rest on the front lawn of a residence. A witness informed officers that the male driver was seen getting out of the vehicle and going into a nearby residence.
A registration check confirmed the vehicle was registered to a nearby resident. Officers made contact with the driver and observed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication. A breath sample revealed a preliminary blood alcohol screening of 0.14%. He was arrested and transported to SCPD’s temporary holding facility.

Residential Burglary
Location: 1700 Block of Franck Avenue
Between 1115 hours and 1245 hours, an unknown suspect entered the residence on the 1700 block of Franck Avenue and ransacked the residence. Entry was made through a rear bathroom window. The residents could not determine what, if anything, had been stolen.

Residential Burglary
Location: 1200 Block of Buchanan Drive
Between 1215 hours and 1339 hours, a residential burglary occurred at the residence on the 1200 block of Buchanan Drive. The victim left the residence and returned to find the front door had been kicked open. The unknown suspect(s) removed two video game consoles, jewelry and cash from the residence with an approximate value of $2,800. The suspect(s) is unknown and still at large.

Saturday, February 17, 2018
Weapons Call
Location: Avenida De Lago and Avenida De Carmen
Public Safety Dispatchers received three calls regarding 4-8 gunshots being fired and people yelling. Arriving units located two .40 caliber shell casings on the southwest corner of Avenida De Lago and Avenida De Carmen. Welfare checks were conducted on nearby residences with negative results. Area hospitals were checked with negative results. The Detective Bureau was notified of this case.
