Deputies conduct a vehicle search and locate a loaded firearm stolen in 2006; driver arrested

LOCATION: Vista Grande Way/Grand Terrace Rd. Grand Terrace
SUSPECT: Rickey Anthony Hernandez, 20 years old, Colton resident
SUMMARY:
On February 18, 2018 at 3:12 a.m. Deputy Alfredo Lopez initiated an occupied vehicle check on a car with paper plates. The vehicle had three occupants and was parked at Vista Grande Way in the City of Grand Terrace (a popular view point). Hernandez was contacted and did not have identification. During a records check, Hernandez was found to have a suspended drivers license and a passenger had an active warrant. All three occupants were detained.
During a vehicle search, Deputies recovered a loaded .357 magnum revolver hidden in the glove compartment. A records check showed the gun was reported as being stolen in 2006, during a residential burglary out of Clovis, Ca.
Rickey Hernandez was booked into the Central Detention Center on a felony weapons violation.
