On Monday, February 19th, Central Maine Disposal, will begin demolishing the former Dennis’ Pizza building. Recently, MDOT acquired the building as part of the future bridge replacement project, and they have contracted with Central Maine Disposal for the tear down. During the demolition, neither motorists nor pedestrians will be able to pass under the Bridge Street Bridge, and the area immediately around the building will be cordoned off so that the building may be safely torn down.

During the first part of the demolition on Monday, the sidewalk and the parking spaces in front of the building will be temporarily cordoned off and inaccessible. For additional safety reasons, the contractor may also find it necessary to close the stairs next to the A1 Diner from the Arcade parking lot up to Bridge Street. This work will begin at approximately 8AM on Monday and may possibly continue through Tuesday afternoon.
