Police Arrest Newark Woman in Domestic Violence Stabbing
Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that police have arrested Denise Johnson, 40, of Newark, for a domestic violence stabbing that occurred today.
At approximately 2:45 p.m., officers responded to a West Ward residence on a call of a domestic violence assault with a knife. The victim, a male, was treated at the scene by EMS. Denise Johnson was taken into custody without incident. No further injuries were reported.
Johnson is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
These charges are merely accusations. The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
