Early this morning, at approximately 0130 hours, a pedestrian was struck on Rt.130 near Apple Orchard Lane. The male struck sustained some significant injuries, including several broken bones. The subject was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. Early investigation reveals that the pedestrian was walking on the far right side of the shoulder along Rt. 130 Northbound when he was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle threw the pedestrian onto the grass along the side of the highway, and then continued northbound. The pedestrian remained there until he could get a passerby's attention and have Police called. The vehicle is a silver colored vehicle, and should be missing the silver covering of the passenger-side mirror. There may also be other passenger-side damage. Officers of our Traffic Safety Bureau are actively investigating the incident, and are following several leads.
