The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

February 12th

0710 Hours: Officer Palacio investigated a stolen Green 1994 Honda Accord (CA License #3KED304) on the 35900 block of Ruschin Drive.

0900 Hours: Officers investigated multiple auto burglaries that occurred overnight throughout the city. The loss was tools, backpacks, electronics and clothing.

*Reminder: Please do not leave any items of perceived value in your vehicles in plain sight.
*Always place the items in your trunk prior to arriving at your destination or take them into your home.

1339 Hours: Officer R. Johnson contacted and arrested a 48-year-old San Francisco female for her outstanding warrants on the 5400 block of Thornton Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1959 Hours: Officer Geser investigated a case of identity theft. The victim reported that someone had used her identity to open a cell phone account.
