Victim dies from Jan. 28 shooting; Suspect anticipated to face homicide charge
 
Braxton Taylor, who is in custody at the Madison County Jail, is expected to face a homicide charge for the shooting death of Daithan Cobb.
 
On Jan. 28 around 3 p.m., Jackson police responded to a shooting in the 1000 block of N. Highland Avenue. Daithan Cobb, 20, was shot multiple times. He was transported to a local hospital.
 
Investigators identified Braxton Taylor, 19, of Jackson, as the suspect. Jackson police arrested Taylor on Jan. 31 and charged him with Attempted First-Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony. Taylor remains in custody in lieu of $150,000 bond.
 
As a result of his injuries, Cobb died Feb. 11 at a Memphis hospital. Investigators will meet with the District Attorney’s Office and anticipate filing additional charges on Taylor.
