Theft of Property Arrests

(Etowah County, Alabama) Two individuals have been arrested and one more is being sought in connection to theft of property, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“William Wayne Welchel, 29, of Cedartown, GA, was arrested and is charged with one count of first degree theft of property,” investigator Adam Chapman said. He is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $5,000 bond. His is on probation through the state of Georgia.

Charles Timothy Myers, 46, of Cedartown, GA, was arrested and is charged with one count of first degree theft of property. He is currently being detained in Cedartown, Georgia on other charges.

Christopher Todd Myers, 26, of Cedartown, GA, is being sought in this case and is currently on the run from law enforcement officers. (Christopher Myers is the son of Charles Myers)

The trio stole a yellow, Can Am four-wheeler and wood splitter from a residence on Lake Mary Louise Road, Gadsden. The suspects then transported the stolen property to a residence in Georgia.

The four-wheeler was recovered with help from Polk County Sheriff’s Office, GA. The wood splitter has also been recovered and returned to the rightful owner.

The suspects were acquaintances of the victim.
