Andre Lamon Johnson of San Bernardino is arrested for attempted carjacking

LOCATION: ARCO AM/PM Fifth at Palm, Highland
SUSPECT(S): Andre Lamon JOHNSON, 32 years old a resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, February 8, 2018, at about 9:58 am, a deputy from the Highland Police Department was driving in the area of Fifth and Palm when he observed a woman at the gas station frantically flagging him down. At the same time, he observed a male, later identified as Andre Lamon JOHNSON running from the location. JOHNSON was detained and the woman reported that JOHNSON was trying to carjack her while she was buying gas. JOHNSON forcibly pushed the victim from the driver’s seat while the victim’s five year old child was in the backseat. Fortunately the deputy arrived when he did and was able to apprehend JOHNSON before he was able to take the car and the child. JOHNSON was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center.
