Met-Ed Update

As of 3 pm, today’s wintry mix has had minimal impact on Met-Ed infrastructure resulting in a few isolated outages around the area. However, as a precaution, Met-Ed is staffing additional line and tree crews overnight to address any issues that may arise. All staff is on call should the situation suddenly escalate. For updated information on the company’s storm preparation efforts, current outages, Met-Ed’s storm restoration process, and tips for staying safe, customers are urged to visit our 24/7 Power Center at www.firstenergycorp.com/outages. If an outage occurs, customers should call 1-888-LIGHTS (1-888-544-4877) to report their outage or click the “Report Outage” link on www.firstenergycorp.com. Immediately report any downed wires to Met-Ed or local police or fire department. Never go near a downed power line, even if you think it is no longer carrying electricity. Use extra caution in areas where downed lines are tangled in trees or other debris. With temperatures predicted to drop below freezing overnight, if you must travel, please be safe.
