The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
February 5th
0543 Hours: Officer Rivera investigated the theft of a White 1996 Honda Civic (CA License #3KIH581) on the 6400 block of Buena Vista Drive.
1314 Hours: Officer Mapes investigated an auto burglary on the 5400 block of McDonald Avenue. The loss is miscellaneous tools.
1446 Hours: Officers Palacio and Nobbe responded to Mirabeau Park to investigate a man down. Upon arrival they contacted a 40-year-old Newark male and determined that he was under the influence of Toluene. The effects of the Toluene dissipated during the contact and the suspect was issued a citation and released at the scene.
2318 Hours: Officers Piquette and Smith investigated a non-injury auto accident on Stevenson Boulevard at Cherry Street.

The log displays basic information such as personal data (allowable by statute/law) and the mug shot of the arrestee. Yes, you can see booking photographs and get to know those in our community who are committing crimes.
