IMPORTANT traffic and parking advisory for Keeper Day activities on Saturday, February 10th.
On Saturday, February 10th, 2018, between the hours of 8:15am-11:30am the City of Lighthouse Point will be celebrating the Keepers Day Inaugural 5K Race and Parade.
The 5k race and parade will be held between the hours of 8:15am-11:30am on Saturday, February 10th, and will affect traffic on Lighthouse Drive, Sample Road and NE 24th Street.
PLEASE NOTE the Police Department will begin clearing the roads and blocking traffic at approximately 8:15am to ensure a safe course for the 200+ participants of the 5K event.
The 5K race will conclude at approximately 9:30am, with the Keeper Day Parade scheduled to begin at 10:00am.
Areas affected include Lake Placid, Marina Area, 2300-2700 block of Sample Road, and all residences east of Lighthouse Drive between NE 24th Street and Sample Road. Only intermittent road openings will be allowed in certain areas during this time for safety reasons. We are advising anyone that resides in these areas to make appropriate changes to your travel plans during these activities.
Limited Parking at Frank McDonough Park
Due to the Inaugural 5k race, parade and additional activities scheduled at Frank McDonough Park on Saturday, February 10th, we are advising participants and attendees that parking (between the hours of 7:30am and 1:00pm) will be extremely limited in and around Frank McDonough Park. All attendees and participants are urged to carpool, park at remote locations or seek alternate methods of transportation to the festivities.
