The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
January 29th
0726 Hours: Officer Pacheco contacted and arrested a 44-year-old transient male for his outstanding warrant on the 5400 block of Central Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
0737 Hours: Officer R. Johnson investigated a three vehicle complaint of pain accident on Thornton Avenue at Spruce Street. The injured party was treated at the scene.
0836 Hours: Officer R. Johnson investigated a two vehicle complaint of pain accident on Central Avenue at Cedar Boulevard. The injured party was treated at the scene.
1259 Hours: Officer D. Johnson investigated a scam where the victim was tricked into sending a large sum of money to unknown suspects.
