Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for Friday, 1/26/18, through Sunday, 1/28/18.

Good Monday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 1/26/18, through Sunday, 1/28/18.

1/26/18

-Owl Rd at Rabbit Rd, Smyer: Roadway Obstruction. A deputy responded to a reported vehicle along the roadway. The vehicle was in the right of way and will be tagged for removal.

-400 blk Duke, Anton: Burglary. A deputy was dispatched to a burglary offense reported at a residence in Anton. Several items were reported taken and the matter is under investigation.

-600 blk Lawrence, Anton: Burglary. A deputy completed another burglary report in the area. Several items were taken and the incident is under investigation. Reports were completed related to property damage and theft.

-3rd at Maurer, Anton: Burglary. A deputy was dispatched to a reported vehicle burglary in the area. Damaged was caused to the vehicle and a report was completed.

-2700 blk Belvedere Rd, Levelland: Check Welfare. A deputy responded to the area related to a call regarding an individual walking along the roadway that appeared disoriented. Deputies searched the area and were unable to find an individual walking in the area. Deputies continued to follow up but no one was located. No specific identifiers other than a clothing description were provided.

-W. Houston near Evening Tower Rd, Levelland: Criminal Mischief. A deputy completed a report after a complainant called about a transformer being shot in the area. The information was collected and a report was completed.

-1600 blk Timmons, Ropesville: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a reported disturbance in the area. The disturbance was found to be verbal only and one of the parties left the area. No offenses were reported.

-Ranch St at Ellington, Ropesville: Disturbance. Deputies assisted with a reported disturbance at a sporting event. No offenses were reported and deputies stayed on scene until the game was over.

1/27/18

-300 blk Spade Rd, Anton: Burglary. A deputy was dispatched to a reported burglary offense. Information was collected for a report and the matter is under investigation.

-Hwy 385 at Kansas Rd, Whitharral: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a report of loose cattle in the area. On arrival all cattle were found to be secure.

-3900 blk Foster Rd, Ropesville: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in the area. It was reported to be a verbal disturbance and one subject had refused to leave the property. Deputies met with all parties and no offenses were reported at that time. One individual was transported to another residence in the area.

-3000 blk FM 300, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was notified of a suspicious vehicle in a lot near an area business. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located. The area remains on close watch.

-100 blk Maple, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy responded to assist Levelland PD units with a reported disturbance. The deputy provided assistance as needed and cleared the call.

-600 blk Moreno, Anton: Suspicious Activity. A deputy responded to a residence in the area related to an open door. The residence was vacant and the residence was checked. No offenses were reported and the residence was secured.

1/28/18

-FM 303 near Jamaica Rd, Pettit: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to attempt to locate loose cattle in the area. The cattle were located and secured.

-3100 blk N. Alamo, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to loose cattle. The property owner secured the cattle until the owner is located. There were approximately 15 head loose in the area. Deputies will continue to locate an owner.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Civil Issue. A deputy met with a complainant regarding a civil matter at the LEC related to a court order. Civil remedies were advised to the individual.

-FM 1294 at Barton Ln, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a complaint of loose cattle in the area. The owner was contacted and deputies assisted on scene until the cattle were secured.

-Hwy 385 near Kansas Rd, Whitharral: Abandoned Vehicle. A deputy was notified of a vehicle parked along the roadway. The vehicle was logged and will be towed from the right of way if not moved within 72 hours. Deputies will follow up.

-Caribou Rd at S. Alamo Rd, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the area. The occupants opted to leave the area. The information was logged.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 1/29/18 at 0800 hours: 51 in Hockley County, 4 to be processed, 7 out of county.
