Car Vs Tree Crash


Sheriff Richard Behnke of the Cass County Sheriff's office reports that on 01/28/2018 at 1:49 A.M. his Deputies were called to a crash on Lawrence Rd, near Marcellus Hwy, in Wayne Township, Cass County Michigan. The driver a (23 yr old Marcellus resident, Terance Hartzell) was driving south on Lawrence Rd when he swerved to avoid a small animal that ran across the road. Hartzell then left the roadway losing control and hitting a tree. Hartzell was airlifted for his injuries by AirCare to the Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. Hartzell was wearing a seat belt during the crash. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this accident. This accident is still under investigation.
