Millstadt Police Department Young Drivers Safety Program - Why Parents & Teens Should Attend

Very often police officers encounter young teen drivers who are unfamiliar with laws which specifically affect their age group. In addition, many parents are unfamiliar with these laws as well. Driver inexperience, unfamiliarity with traffic rules, and distracted driving are all issues which affect the teen driver, and as a result, everyone who travels the roadways.

The Millstadt Police Department would like to educate as many new drivers, and their parents, as possible. We will be holding our annual Young Drivers Safety Program on Saturday, March 3rd, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., at the Millstadt Consolidated School, 211 West Mill Street. This program is designed for those ages 17 & under who have a driver's license, driver's permit, or are attending driver's education classes. There is no cost. We will have an impact speaker on hand to share a personal story. This program will include lunch and attendance prizes.

In the past we have received excellent feedback from parents and teens about our program. We attempt to make this program fun and educational. We believe with a program like this we can reduce the amount of citations which are issued, the increased cost of insurance when a young driver is involved in a traffic crash, and reduce the amount of injuries and fatalities which occur on our roadways.

Please help spread the word about this program to those who can benefit.

To make a reservation, or for questions, please email Lt. Alan Hucke: [email protected].
