Clayton County Police Homicide Detectives did a masterful job on January 5th when they responded to the scene of a murder by shooting in Jonesboro.  Within an hour, they were able to determine that the victim was actually a part of a robbing crew and was accidentally shot and killed by one of his accomplices.   This robbing crew was made up of five individuals.

While the five suspects attempted to rob a Hispanic male at a location in Jonesboro, Ivan Maddox  attempted to hit the man with a pistol, but missed while pulling the trigger.  The bullet struck one of the other robbers killing him.  Upon arrival, Clayton County PD officers found Ivan Maddox and two juveniles near the scene.  Officers were also able to locate a MAG Tactical System Rifle, a Glock 30, a ski mask, and gloves at the scene.  Maddox and a juvenile was taken into custody the same day.

Further investigation led Clayton County Police Homicide Detectives to issue murder and aggravated assault warrants for Quavon Davis and the two remaining juvenile suspects.  

At 5:30 a.m. yesterday morning, Sheriff Victor Hill’s elite Fugitive Squad accompanied by two other of his special forces (The Vice Squad and Cobra Unit) with assistance from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office executed all three warrants simultaneously at their locations in Henry County.  All three suspects were taken into custody without incident.
