Reminder: Overnight On-Street parking is prohibited on Borough Roadways between 2AM & 6AM.

Overnight Parking Regulations
 

Borough of North Caldwell Ordinance 99-6.6 prohibits parking on any street within the Borough between the hours of 2:00am – 6:00am. Permission to park on the street during these times is given on a case by case emergency basis, and is generally limited to 2 or 3 times per year. In order to receive permission to park overnight on the roadway, you MUST call the police communications desk at (973) 226-0800. When you call, please know the exact location where your car is located, as well as a complete description of the vehicle that will be left on the street. This INCLUDES the license plate.

Additionally; Borough of North Caldwell Ordinance 99-2 prohibits parking on any snow covered street as follows:

C. Snowfall. (Ord. No. 12-09) Whenever snow has fallen and it has accumulated such that the roadways are covered, no vehicles shall be parked on the Borough roads. The parking prohibitions shall remain in effect after the snow has ceased, until the streets have been plowed and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic.

(1) If a vehicle is parked in violation of this subsection it will be subject to towing by the North Caldwell Police Department. The owner will be responsible for the costs of removal and storage that may result from the removal.

(2) Signs regarding this prohibition shall be erected by the Borough of North Caldwell as required by law.

(3) Unless other penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey Statute, every person found to be in violation of this subsection, shall be liable for a penalty of not more than two hundred fifty ($250.00) dollars.
