The Two Grinches That Tried To Steal Christmas Captured By Sheriff Victor Hill’s Elite Crime Suppression Team

On Christmas Eve December 24, 2017, Sheriff’s Deputies went to Brian Lane in Forest Park to serve a Probation Violation warrant on Ronald Lee Durden.  When deputies arrived they observed Durden and his girlfriend Stephanie Ford, unloading Amazon packages from a huge white box truck at the front door of the house.

Durden was arrested for his outstanding warrant and was asked by Deputies why was he unloading Amazon packages into his house.  It was a question that Duden could not provide an adequate answer for.

Sheriff’s Deputies contacted Durden’s employer and found out that they were just about to report the truck stolen. After further investigation, more stolen items were located at the rear of the residence and at a local storage facility.   The items stolen were in excess of 10,000 individual items and is believed to have a possible estimated value of at least $500,000.00 in Christmas gifts that did not make it to their intended destinations in time.  Investigators are still in the process of inventorying and photographing all of the stolen items to return to Amazon.

Durden and his girlfriend Ford received luxurious accommodations at the “Hill ton” just in time for the Christmas holidays. Their separate accommodations required them both to face the wall for their hard working thieving efforts at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail.

This incident was not made public at the time of the arrest of Durden and Ford to give Deputies time to see if more suspects were involved due to the large size scale of the theft.
