Advisory

Notice of lane closures due to FPL's hardening project in Lighthouse Point (see attached link).

As part of FPL’s continuing hardening project in the City of Lighthouse Point, their subcontractor (Pike Electric) is currently working in the 3100 block of NE 23rd Avenue on transferring equipment onto the new poles set over the past two days. This will result in a moving lane closure in the area, depending on which pole they are working on. Traffic is being controlled by flaggers with stop/slow paddles.

This Saturday FPL’s contractor plans to set the last set of poles along NE 23rd Av for this project (two poles north of the Kingfisher Bridge in the vicinity of NE 23rd Av and NE 34th St, and the remainder of the poles south of the Ibis Bridge, in the vicinity of NE 23rd Av and NE 28th St). This will require use of the large crane again, and result in roadway closures.

Traffic detours will be set up as before, beginning Saturday at 8am until the project is complete. The northbound lane of NE 23rd Av at the traffic circle (NE 27th St) will be closed for a period of time while poles are being set in the area. It is estimated that the project and lane closures will continue throughout much of the day.
