Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for Tuesday, 1/23/18. 
Good Wednesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Tuesday, 1/23/18.
-West Houston at FM 303, Levelland: Abandoned Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to check the status of a vehicle parked along the roadway. The vehicle was located and the information was logged. Attempts are being made to contact the owner to have it removed.
-1000 blk Spade Hwy, Anton: Alarm. A deputy responded to an alarm at a residence in the area. While en route, the alarm was cancelled by the owner.
-Hwy 114 at Opdyke Gin Rd, Levelland: Traffic Hazard. A deputy was dispatched to the area to locate a vehicle stopped in the roadway causing a traffic hazard. The area was checked and the vehicle had already left.
-300 blk Sylvan, Anton: Assist Anton PD. A deputy was dispatched to the area to assist Anton Police with a subject that was possibly intoxicated and creating a disturbance. The deputy assisted as needed and was later transported to a residence in the area where he was released.
-FM 1490 at FM 2306, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a complaint of possible loose cattle in the area. Several were located and secured. The owner was identified and notified of the situation.
-Hwy 114 at Cochran County line: Assist Cochran County SO. A deputy was notified of possible stolen property being transported in the area. Deputies assisted by searching for the suspect vehicle, but the vehicle was not located. Deputies will continue to follow up on the matter.
-E. Ellis at County Rd, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy assisted Levelland PD with a traffic contact where one individual was arrested for an open warrant, and a possession offense. The individual was transported to the jail.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.
Jail population as of 1/24/18 at 0800 hours: 45 in Hockley County, 6 to be processed, 7 out of county.
