Crossing Guard Recognition week is from January 22nd to 26th

The week of January 22nd to 26th is recognized as Wisconsin Adult School Crossing Guard Recognition week. Crossing guards play an important role in ensuring the safety of our school aged children on a daily basis. It is their job to protect our children from harm’s way. They are there rain, snow or shine, simply to protect our children from hazardous situations.

The safety of our kids is paramount to each and every one of us and the work of our crossing guards should not go unnoticed. As you see a crossing guard today, take a moment to simply wave to them to show your acknowledgement of the hard work they do every day.

“On behalf of the Green Bay Police Department, I thank our crossing guards for the dedication that they give to our children each and every day” said Police Chief Andrew Smith. “The work you do is invaluable and although this week is crossing guard recognition week, know that we appreciate the work you do every day” said Smith.
