Winter Storm Watch until 12:00AM Tuesday

...WINTER STORM WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions possible. Travel could be very difficult to impossible, including during the morning commute on Monday. Total snow accumulations of 7 to 10 inches are possible. Localized amounts up to 12 inches are possible in southwest Minnesota. Ice accumulations of a light glaze could occur Sunday night in northwest Iowa and toward Interstate 90 in southwest Minnesota.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota.

* WHEN...From Sunday evening through Monday evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds of 25 to 40 mph could cause whiteout conditions in blowing snow beginning overnight Sunday night and lasting through Monday evening. The worst visibilities will be outside city limits. Significant drifting of snow is also possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Winter Storm Watch for blizzard conditions means there is a potential for falling and/or blowing snow with strong winds and extremely poor visibilities. This can lead to whiteout conditions and make travel very dangerous.
