Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 01/18/18 at 3:00 P.M. his deputies responded to a two car crash in the 17000 block of Chain Lake St. Calvin Township, Cass County Michigan. A16 year old Cassopolis resident, and her 17 year old (Cassopolis resident)passenger were eastbound on Chain Lake St when she lost control of her vehicle on some ice crossed the center line and struck a westbound box truck. The driver of the box truck, Anthony Falcone (53 years old) of Elkhart, Indiana was westbound on Chain Lake St when he observed a vehicle traveling eastbound lose control of her vehicle and slide sideways striking the side of his truck. The 17 year old was transported to Borgess Lee Hospital for his injuries. Seatbelts were used in this crash. Alcohol does not appear to be factor. Speed appears to be a factor.
