SUMMARY:

On January 8, 2018, at 2:50 p.m., Deputy Marquez, from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department, responded to a vehicle burglary in the 9700 block of Hampshire Street. Several of the victim's electronics, credit cards, and other items were stolen from her vehicle. The same day, the suspects used the victim’s credit card to purchase $400 worth of merchandise at the Rancho Cucamonga Walmart. The suspects were captured on video surveillance.

On January 15, 2018, at 8:00 a.m., Deputy Lee, from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department, responded to Walmart after Asset Protection personnel told dispatch that the suspects were inside the store. Deputies arrived and detained Anthony De LA Cruz and Summer Valentin inside of Cruz’s vehicle. Deputies located multiple credit/debit cards on Cruz and Valentin that did not belong to them. Deputies contacted the victims and confirmed they were victims of identity theft and burglaries. Cruz and Valentin were arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center with a bail of $50,000 each. Cruz was also booked for an additional warrant.

On January 16, 2018, the Detective Bureau assisted with the investigation and the suspect’s residence in Moreno Valley was searched. Detectives found additional stolen property from multiple victims, including the recent burglaries.
