Shooting Investigation

At about 11:15 a.m. this morning, the Fairfield Police Department received a call of a shooting at the intersection of Marigold Ave and Atlantic Ave.  While responding to the scene, officers saw a speeding vehicle leaving the area.  The officer followed the car to Northbay Medical Center and discovered one person inside had suffered a single gunshot wound to the leg.  He was immediately taken inside the hospital and treated for non-life threating injuries.

Officers learned that the victim had been seated inside his car parked on Marigold Ave when the incident occurred.  A green or teal SUV-type car stopped next to the victim and fired multiple shots into the car before speeding off north on Marigold Ave.  This is an active investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
