Winter Weather Advisory until 12:00PM Tuesday

...Wintry Weather Likely Across West Central Texas Monday Night and Tuesday... .An arctic cold front will push across West Central Texas Monday afternoon and Monday evening, bringing a much colder air mass to the area. As temperatures fall, areas of wintry precipitation will develop. Although much of the area will see light accumulations, portions of the Heartland, Northwest Hill Country, and Northern Edwards Plateau may see higher totals. This will be an area mainly south of a San Saba to Brady to Menard to Sonora line. ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM MONDAY TO NOON CST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...a wintry mixture of freezing rain, sleet, and snow expected, including during the morning commute on Tuesday. Although only light totals are expected, with temperatures in the mid 20s, even a light accumulation may still produce icy spots on area roadways.

* WHERE...Portions of west central Texas extending from Abilene and Brownwood to San Angelo and Ozona.

* WHEN...6 PM Monday to noon Tuesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...In addition, gusty north winds will combine wit the very cold temperatures to produce wind chills dropping to near zero at times. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution when traveling. Icy spots will develop, especially on bridges and overpasses.
