Join the City of Lancaster for the Eleventh Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service on January 13

The 2018 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, will take place citywide on Saturday, January 13, marking the City’s eleventh year of engaging the community in the national United We Serve initiative. Each year, community members and local organizations come together to donate their time, resources, and skills to help build a stronger, healthier, and more unified Lancaster through their participation in the City’s annual MLK Day of Service.

Volunteers are still needed and may register online at www.cityoflancasterca.org/mlkday through 5 p.m. Friday, January 12. To see a full list of this year’s projects, including those that do not require pre-registration, please visit www.cityoflancasterca.org/mlkday.

While the City’s official MLK Day of Service will be hosted this Saturday, ongoing service opportunities are available throughout the year via partnering non-profit and community service organizations.

In the immortal words of Dr. King, “Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
