Deputies arrest two after high speed chase.

Sonoma County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two people after a high speed chase. The incident began shortly before 2:00 AM this morning when a Sheriff’s Deputy tried to stop a blue Acura for failing to stop at a stop sign as it took the Airport off ramp from NB Hwy 101.  As the deputy turned on his red lights, the driver, later identified as 38-year-old Silvia Dorman from Santa Rosa, turned south on Fulton Rd and sped away and a high rate of speed. The Acura reached speed of 100 mph as it crossed the intersection of River Rd and Fulton Rd. The Acura turned east onto Tedeschi Drive then south onto Andre Ln which is almost an immediate dead end.

Dorman drove onto a curb and hit a backyard fence at which point she stopped the car and took off running on foot through a wet and soggy field. Dorman ran about 75 yards into the field before giving up. She was then taken into custody without incident. Deputies determined Dorman had seven warrants for her arrest with a total bail of $1,400,000. The car may have been an unreported stolen car. Deputies are trying to find the owner as that part of the investigation continues. Dorman was ultimately booked for her warrants and felony evading a peace officer. She is being held on $1,430,000 bail.

A passenger in the car, 47-year-old Santa Rosa resident, John Martel, was taken into custody by other responding deputies. He tried to remove a package of tin foil from his pocket as he exited the car. A deputy took possession of the tin foil and determined there was about 2 grams of cocaine inside. Martel was arrested for possession of cocaine and violating the terms of his probation.
