1 injured in crash





Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 1/11/18 at 1420 hours his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash that occurred at the intersection of Dailey Rd and Pokagon Hwy in La Grange Township, Cass County Michigan. 37 yr old Niles resident, Bradly Cox, was eastbound on Pokagon hwy when a vehicle pulled out in front of him. This southbound vehicle was driven by, 16 yr old Niles resident, Megan Gallagher. Mr. Cox's passenger, Jeremy Mckie, was wearing his seatbelt however back seat passengers Kylee Merfeld and Michael Joslyn were not. Ms. Gallagher passengers, Skyler Leach and Brooklyn Bays were both wearing their seat belts. Mr. Cox was transported to Lakeland Hospital in Niles for treatment and all other parties either were not injured or treated and released at the scene. Intoxicants were not a factor. This case remains under investigation.
