* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Rain will changeover to a mix of freezing rain and sleet Friday morning before changing over to all snow. The combination of snow and ice will result in difficult travel conditions, potentially including both the morning and evening commutes on Friday. Total ice accumulations of around one tenth will be possible with total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches expected.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast Michigan.
* WHEN...From 4 AM to 7 PM EST Friday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...North winds of 20 to 30 mph will lead to rapidly plummeting temperatures during the morning hours. The arctic airmass, with temperatures in the 20s by the middle to late morning, will to lead to a flash freezing of precipitation that falls earlier in the day. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
