Fish Fire Impact Area Storm Update; Mandatory Evacuation Orders and Street Closures lifted at 10 am Today

Fish Fire Impact Area Storm Update; City of Duarte Moves to a Yellow Alert Level in Impact Area; Mandatory Evacuation Orders and Street Closures Lifted

After consultation with its partners in safety, City of Duarte officials are lifting the mandatory evacuation orders and moving to the Yellow Alert level at 10:00 am this morning, January 9th.  Duarte City staff and LA County patrols including the  Sheriff’s and Public Works Departments will continue throughout the day as the storm is expected to continue lightly most of the day and into early evening. The Red Cross Evacuation Site at the Community Center and City’s Emergency Operations Center will also close at 10:00 am.  Duarte Transit will also continue to suspend service in the impact area through today and resume regular service on January 10th.

During this continued Yellow Alert Level residents are advised to be aware of the below protocols:

  • No evacuation orders in effect.

  • Rain-related parking restrictions in effect.

  • Residents directed to remove vehicles, trash bins, and other obstructions from streets and/or travel lanes, as they will be subject to tow or removal by authorities.

Starting January 8th, 2018, the City successfully sustained hours of flash flood watches and intermittent moderate to heavy rain.  No property damage or injuries have been reported and City crews were on site prior to 7:00 am this morning to commence minimal clean up work and remove previously installed deflector walls.
