RE:           Sobriety Checkpoints 
 
As part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of the citizens of Jackson, the Jackson Police Department will be performing Sobriety Checkpoints and increased traffic enforcement throughout the city this Saturday and Sunday.
 
There will be a Sobriety Checkpoint on Sunday, 14 January 2018, from 0030 until 0145 on Hollywood Drive at Old Hickory Blvd, and one Sunday, 08 January 2018 from 0215 until 0345 on US 45 By-Pass near Ashport Rd.
 
During these Sobriety Checkpoints and increased traffic enforcement, officers will concentrate their efforts on removing impaired drivers from the roadways.   However, as non-compliance with the safety belt and child restraint laws place people in danger these laws will be vigorously enforced as well.
