Joseph Allen of Highland arrested for felony possession of a destructive device

LOCATION: Baseline St. and Cunningham St., Highland
SUSPECT: Joseph Allen, 37, Highland
SUMMARY:
On January 7, 2018 at 1:15 a.m. a deputy contacted Joseph Allen, a pedestrian, around Baseline and Cunningham Streets. It was discovered Allen was in possession of a suspicious device. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Department Arson-Bomb detail were dispatched to the scene and further investigated it, determining it was a pipe bomb. The device was rendered safe by the detectives and they took possession of it.
Joseph Allen was arrested and booked at the Central Detention Center for felony possession of a destructive device and bail was set at $500,000.00.
