Weather Advisory - Monday Afternoon Freezing Rain / Ice

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY - Monday Afternoon

South Brunswick Police have received an advisory from the local weather service of winter weather event Monday afternoon. The advisory indicates sleet and freezing rain will start sometime after 3pm on Monday and create difficult travel for the evening commute. Drivers should use reduce speeds and allow extra time for their commute,  

WEATHER FORECAST

Brief Shot of Wintry Mix Tomorrow ...The extreme cold will last for one more day before temperatures begin to moderate later this week. A weak storm system will slide through the area late tomorrow afternoon and evening, bringing a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. The majority of precipitation will fall as sleet and freezing rain, but regardless of the precipitation type, this will be a de-icing event with any accumulations staying less than 1.0". Temperatures will be steady between 28 - 32 degrees throughout the event, but even if air temperatures can rise above freezing, there will still be pavement icing with ground temperatures remaining extremely cold.

Warmer temperatures begin moving into the area by the second half of the work-week.
