Good Friday morning! The following ae calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Thursday, 1/4/18.

-1800 blk N. FM 168, Smyer: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in the area. Both parties stated the disturbance was verbal only and no offenses were reported. Parties were separated and the information was documented related to the incident.

-4000 blk FM 3261, Ropesville: Shots Fired. A deputy was dispatched to check the area related to a report of shots fired. A complainant stated an individual driving a white pickup truck stopped near an abandoned property and fired two gun shots before fleeing the area. The area was checked and no vehicle was located. Information was passed on to all deputies to continue to watch the area.

-4th St at Grant St, Smyer: Vehicle Crash. A deputy responded to a minor collision in a parking area. Information was collected and provided to drivers about remedies.

-Hwy 385 at Caribou Ln, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was notified of possible loose horse in the area. The horse was located and secured. The owner was also notified.

-800 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to a check on a vehicle parked on private property that did not belong to the owner. The vehicle did not return stolen and was likely disabled. Multiple attempts were made to contact the owner. Deputies will continue to follow up with both parties.

-6800 blk Hwy 114, Smyer: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in the area. Deputies spoke with all parties and the disturbance was verbal only. No offenses were reported. Parties were separated and information was collected related to the incident.

-600 blk Moreno, Anton: Warrant Service. Deputies responded to an address in the area related to multiple wanted subjects possibly at the residence. Two individuals were located and both had active arrest warrants. Both were taken into custody without incident. One of the individuals also had a quantity of narcotics and was also charged for the felony offense related to the controlled substance.

-6500 blk Oxen Rd, Ropesville: Suspicious Activity. Deputies were dispatched to the area related to a complaint of persons walking around the property. The area was checked by deputies and no one was located. The area will continue to be on a close patrol.

-1200 blk Avenue M, Levelland: Warrant Service. Deputies assisted other agencies with a warrant service at a residence. Several individuals were arrested without incident and transported to the jail for a number of charges.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 1/5/18 at 0800 hours: 48 in Hockley County, 6 to be processed, 2 out of county.
