Advisory

Roads Deteriorating rapidly, drivers sliding, Twp Offices & School Closed, Keep Hydrants Clear, Pets inside.

Roads Deteriorating rapidly -
Whether you have 4 wheel drive, all wheel drive or using a horse, all will slide when you try and stop. Frozen conditions with a covering of snow makes stopping impossible especially on bridges. Winds will be picking up and power outages are expected. Prep the snow thrower and the generator. And the Fluffernutter!
Schools are closed, send them out later today with shovels. Tell your teens its the ultimate first person video game. Extreme Realism.
Twp Offices Closed -
Pets - Its against the law so please make sure they are in safe. Please call if you see any pet sheltering outside.
Please stay inside and warm! All should end by 3pm

Extra Info

Reminder on snow removal, Hydrant Clearing, Pick up Dog Waste, Clear Car Roof

West Windsor Police are reminding all residents to please shovel. Lets face it, you don't want to be that person with your sidewalk covered and everyone else did theirs.  For the safety of your neighbors and their children and dogs, please have it removed by a professional or a well intentioned teen who needs xbox money. At some point we will have to devote manpower to sending warnings to those who do not. If you have an elderly neighbor please help them and dig out for them.

Also be sure to clear an area around your fire hydrants, This will only take 10 minutes more and you are already out there!

Car roofs covered in snow become dangerous to all those around you. Please have the snow removed before it becomes flying shards of ice.

Lastly, I love pets of all kinds but rest assured your neighbors don't want to see their poop in the street or on the ground. Frozen poop is not appealing so please bag it if you're walking your pet.

Thank you all again for working together to make this storms impact on emergency services and the DPW as minimal as possible.

I have attached the local ordinance below for those who need it.

§ 152-18

§ 152-19

No person, owner, tenant or occupant of any premises abutting on any street or sidewalk shall throw, place or deposit any snow or ice accumulated on private property into or upon any such street or sidewalk in the township.
