WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY

.WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM THURSDAY
TO 1 AM EST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Plan on slippery road
conditions, including during the morning commute on Thursday. In
addition, areas of poor visibility are expected. Total snow
accumulations of 2 to 5 inches are expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey and southeast New
York.

* WHEN...From 1 AM Thursday to 1 AM EST Friday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds gusting as high as 40 mph will
cause areas of blowing and drifting snow.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means periods
of snow and blowing snow will cause primarily travel
difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited
visibilities, and use caution while driving. The latest road
conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by
calling 5 1 1.

The NAFD requests residents living near a fire hydrant to "Adopt a Hydrant" & remove snow & ice around the hydrants during winter months. Approximately 366 fire hydrants are present in North Arlington & are located are approximately every 400 feet on most Borough roads. Any assistance in clearing the snow from fire hydrants will be appreciated. Being a volunteer dept. the NAFD does not have the time or personnel to clear snow from fire hydrants after a snow storm.

The North Arlington Police Department reminds residents the following roadways are designated as Snow Emergency Streets. Removing vehicles from the roadways ensures adequate plowing allowing emergency vehicles to respond Borough wide.

All are reminded vehicles MUST be removed from Snow Emergency Streets for plowing. Vehicles not moved will be issued a summons and towed. Borough Ordinance #187-22

2) Beaver Ave - Ridge Rd. to Rutherford Pl - Both sides
3) Beech St -West Side entire school area ONLY
4) Belmount Ave - Ridge Rd .to York Rd. – Both Sides
5) Canterbury Ave. - Ridge Rd. to Schuyler Ave. – Both Sides
6) Harding Ave – North Side Only Entire Length
7) Hillside Ave – West Side Only Entire Length
8) Jason Way – Entire Outer Length
9) Prospect Ave. - Belleville Pike. to Sunset Ave. Both Sides
10) Ridge Rd. - Belleville Pike to Union Ave
11) Roosevelt Pl – West Side Only
12) Rutherford Pl.- Beaver Ave. to Inman Pl. (West Side)
Additionally, when more than 5 inches of snow is expected Residents are REQUESTED to remove vehicles from the following streets:
1) Park Ave – Rutherford Pl to Schuyler Ave
2) Belmount Ave – York Rd to River Rd.
3) Stover Ave
4) Gold St.
5) Riverview Ave Locust Av to Veterans Pl
& Bergen Ave to Jauncey Ave
6) Sixth St.
7) Second St
8) ALL Dead Ends

Help your neighbors and Emergency responders, shovel your steps and walk ways.

It is illegal to reserve parking spots using cones, chairs, trash cans or other items. Any items left in the street will be removed. DO NOT THROW SNOW IN THE STREET!!!!!!!!!!! Borough Ordinance #319-20

All sidewalk MUST be cleared of snow within 12 hours of snow fall stopping. Borough Ordinance #319-21
