Winter Storm - January 3, 2018

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Hunterdon County from this evening through Thursday.  2 or more inches of now is forecast.  Gusty winds may result in power outages.  Extremely dangerous wind chills are possible for Friday and Saturday.  Residents and visitors should prepare for wintry weather and potential power outages in advance.  Monitor www.weather.gov/phi for updated information.


...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 PM EST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Plan on slippery road
conditions, including during the morning commute on Thursday.
In addition, areas of poor visibility are expected. Total snow
accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northern and northwest New Jersey and east
central and southeast Pennsylvania.

* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Thursday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds gusting as high as 40 mph will cause
areas of blowing and drifting snow. Scattered power outages
could develop Thursday and Friday which would force considerable
hardship where heat would not be available.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means periods
of snow and blowing snow will cause primarily travel
difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited
