December 19th

Auto Burglary - 2000 block of Mira Vista Dr:
An officer reported an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s rear window and stole an emergency kit ($50). The incident occurred in between 0100-0700 hours.

Attempt Stolen Vehicle - 6400 block of Schmidt Ln:
An officer reported an unknown suspect attempted to steal the victim’s 2001 Toyota Corolla. The incident occurred in between 12/18@1700 hours and 12/19@0845 hours.

Petty Theft, Shoplift - (CVS) 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 1228 hours, officers were dispatched to a suspicious person detail located at CVS. An employee reported two females were inside attempting to steal. Upon officers’ arrival the two females had exited the store. As officers were circulating the area, a resident at Ranchito Ct. called to report two suspicious females in their neighbor’s yard. Prior to leaving the area the females discarded a bag of property. The females and bag matched the description of the theft suspects. Officers located two 26-year-old females from Richmond walking southbound on Elm Court. They were both identified during an infield show-up and placed under a citizen’s arrest. They were booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Petty Theft, Shoplift - (Big 5 Sporting Goods) 10060 San Pablo Ave:
At 1231 hours, an officer reported an unknown suspect left the business without paying for several Nike sweat suits. He was last seen entering the passenger seat of an awaiting 4-door silver vehicle.

Stolen Vehicle - 000 block of San Carlos Ave
A community service officer reported an unknown suspect stole the victim’s blue 1997 Honda CRV. The theft occurred in between 0800-1300 hours.

Warrant Arrest - Central Ave / Pierce St:
At 1712 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 49-year-old male from Oakland for a no bail warrant. He was booked at the El Cerrito PD and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Attempted Robbery (Strong arm) – Potrero Ave / I-80:
At 2015 hours, the victim was walking eastbound on Potrero Ave under I-80 when he was approached and surrounded by 6-8 male juveniles. Two in the group were the primary suspects and they demanded his phone and wallet and threatened to kill him. The victim refused and the group fled empty handed southbound on S.55th Street. The victim was unable to describe the suspects beyond being black male juveniles. One was wearing a white sweatshirt and a second was wearing a red sweatshirt.

December 20th

Vandalism - 10000 Block of San Pablo Ave:
At 0648 hours, an officer responded to the business for a report of a subject that shot the front window with a pellet gun and causing damage.

Robbery - (Ross) 2000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1134 hours, an officer reported S-unknown female attempted to walk out of Ross with $45 worth of merchandise. A manager confronted the suspect near the front of the business and attempted to take back the merchandise. The suspect pushed/slapped the manager’s hand away and fled the scene.

Drunk in Public – 800 Block of Everett St:
At 1706 hours, officers responded to an unwanted subject. An Uber Driver called to report his passenger was refusing to get out of the vehicle. Upon arrival, officers contacted the 47-year-old female of El Cerrito and determined she was heavily intoxicated. She was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Petty Theft – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1733 hours, an officer responded to a theft at Safeway. The officer located the subject and was speaking to him outside in the parking lot. The 19-year-old male from Richmond attempted to flee from the officer with the merchandise. The male was quickly apprehended and transported to the ECPD for booking. After booking, the male was transferred to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Robbery (Strong arm) – 600 block of Albemarle St:
Between 1845 and 1900 hours, the two victims were walking northbound when they were approached from behind by two suspects. Suspect-1 (S-1) grabbed Victim-1 (V-1) and tripped him. S-1 held him down and took a phone, cash, and backpack. S-1 then punched V-1 in the face. Suspect-2 (S-2) pushed Victim-2 (V-2) the ground and then punched him in the face. S-1 and S-2 fled southbound on Albemarle St on foot. The suspects were described as follows:

S-1: Black male, 16-22 years old, approximately 6-04 with a slim build, wearing a black hooded jacket and red T-shirt

S-2: Black male, 16-22 years old, approximately 6-00 with a slim build, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt

Felon Possess Firearm, False Name to Peace Officer, Parole Violation – Cutting Blvd / I-80:
At 2040 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the 20-year-old male driver from Oakland. The driver initially lied about his name, likely to conceal the fact he was on parole. The vehicle had not been registered since 2013. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded handgun. The driver was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and transported to County Jail.

December 21st

Petty Theft Shoplift - (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0644 hours an officer was there conducting a security check when employees advised him of a theft that had just occurred. The officer located the 19-year-old male from Richmond on the platform of the Del Norte BART with the merchandise. The male was placed under Citizen’s Arrest and transported to the ECPD for booking. After booking, the male was released on a citation.

Theft from Vehicle, Vandalism - (Post Office) 10245 San Pablo Ave:
Around 1000 hours, an officer responded to the location for a theft report. He reported an unknown suspect cut a hole in the chain link fence to gain entry and stole a battery from one of the unlocked trucks in the lot. The incident occurred in between 10/20 at 1900 hours and 10/21 at 0900 hours.

Warrant Arrest - (Luckys) 1000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1053 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 50-year-old male from Richmond for an outstanding warrant. The male was transported to the ECPD where he was booked and released on a citation.

Residential Burglary - 7200 block of Cutting Blvd.
An officer reported an unknown suspect smashed the window on the victim’s rear slider to gain entry. While inside the residence the suspect ripped the alarm siren from the wall and placed it under running water from the kitchen sink. The suspect conducted a light ransack and stole property. The incident occurred in between 1030-1345 hours.

December 22nd

Warrant Arrest - (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2200 hours an officer contacted a 51-year-old Antioch male who a no bail felony warrant. The male was transported into County Jail.

Drug Arrest - Knott Ave / Key Blvd:
At 0159 hours, an officer conducted a suspicious vehicle check and arrested a 42-year-old Richmond male for possession of methamphetamine and also arrested a 28-year-old Richmond female for possession of a meth pipe. Both were arrested and cited then released.

December 23rd

Grand Theft - (Bed Bath and Beyond) 6000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1942 hours, an officer reports (S) entered the store and stole 2 blenders worth $1000.00. (S) was described as a WMA, 20 years old, 6’2”, 180 lbs, wearing a SF Giants jacket and dark pants. (S) apparently called ahead of time to see if the blenders were in stock. Albany PD was called to a suspicious subject on the border of Albany and El Cerrito. An APD officer spotted (S) carrying two boxes of blenders and contacted him. (S) threw a blender at the officer. (S) dropped the other blender and fled on a bicycle. Both blenders were recovered and returned.

Warrant Arrest - Carlson Blvd / Fairmount Ave:
At 2244 hours, an officer arrested a 43-year-old transient male for an outstanding Berkeley warrant. He was transported to County Jail.

December 24th

December 25th

Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave / Conlon Ave:
At 1035 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 33-year-old female from Antioch for an outstanding warrant. After booking, she was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Controlled Substance and Warrant Arrest – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1906 hours, an officer noticed subjects walking away from a vehicle and began to loiter around the Pet Food Express which was closed. When the subjects saw the officer they quickly walked away. A VIN check of the vehicle revealed it was a reported stolen out of Oakland. Officers arrived in the area and located the subjects nearby. Officer located two 20 year old males from Oakland, and one 16-year old-female from Richmond. A search of the two males revealed several grams of controlled substances. A search of the female revealed the ignition key for the stolen vehicle. The female admitted to driving the stolen vehicle to Safeway. All three subjects were taken into custody. During booking it was discovered the female had a warrant out of Contra Costa County. The female was taken to Juvenile Hall and the two males were released on citations.

Stolen Vehicle – 800 block of Liberty St:
At 0453 hours, an officer reports the theft of the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle was stolen between 2200 hours on 12/25 and 0450 hours on 12/26.

December 26th

Petty Theft - 6400 block of Hagen Blvd.
An officer reported an unknown suspect stole the victim’s package from the porch. The theft occurred in between 12/19 and 12/24.

Residential Burglary, Trespass - 500 Block of Oak St:
An officer reported an unknown suspect kicked in the front door of the vacant apartment and appears to be squatting there. The incident occurred within the past two weeks.

Domestic Violence, Restraining Order Violation – 6500 block of Donal Ave:
At 2312 hours, an officer reports the arrest of a 50-year-old male after he came to the victim’s residence and refused to leave in violation of a court order. The victim and the male had been in a dating relationship. The male also assaulted the female several days ago leaving injuries. The 50-year-old male was booked and transported to county jail.

December 27th

Auto Burglaries - 3400 Block of Belmont Ave:
An officer reported unknown suspects smashed the windows of the victims’ vehicles and removed property. The three burglaries occurred in between 0103-0108 hours.

Warrant Arrest – 11299 San Pablo Ave:
At 1821 hours, an officer responded to a fight call in front of the Little Cesar’s Pizza. An officer arrived on scene and a juvenile, a 14-year old-male from Richmond and discovered he had an outstanding warrant. The male was booked and taken to Juvenile Hall.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave / Cutting Blvd:
At 2217 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and subsequently arrested, a 57-year-old male from Richmond for an outstanding warrant out of. The male was booked then transported to county jail.

December 28th

Hit And Run, Terrorist Threat - San Pablo Ave / El Dorado St:
At 1655 hours, officers responded to the area for a hit and run collision. The victim advised Dispatch that the suspect had threaten to kill him and stated he had a gun. The victim was able to provide a license plate and description of the suspect. Officers located the suspect vehicle near the suspect’s residence and contacted 32-year-old male suspect of Richmond. The male was identified during an infield show-up and placed under Citizen’s Arrest. The male was transported to the El Cerrito PD for booking and released on a citation.

December 29th

Auto Burglary - (Peet’s Coffee) 9895 San Pablo Ave:
At 1828 hours, an officer reports that (S) shattered the front passenger window of the victim’s Mercedes SUV, taking a laptop and a purse totaling a loss of $1400.00. Time of occurrence was between 1818-1827 hours.

Strong arm Robbery - Knott Ave / BART path:
At 2206 hours, an officer reports that two suspects demanded property from the victim and took his black IPhone 7 plus. The suspects fled northbound on the BART path. Officers circulated but could not locate the suspects. The suspects were described as follows:

S1: Hispanic male adult, late 20s, 5’9”, 180lbs, wearing a dark hoodie, blue jeans, and is heavy set.
S2: Hispanic male adult, early 20s, 5’7”, 150lbs, wearing a dark hoodie, and dark jeans.

Possession of Controlled Substance - (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0031 hours, an officer arrested a 57-year-old Richmond male for possession of methamphetamine. He was cited and released.

December 30th

DUI Collision - Donal Ave / Elm St:
At 1748 hours, ECPD officers responded to a collision involving a vehicle into a parked vehicle. Officers contacted a 35-year-old Richmond male, the driver, and observed objective symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Marijuana was found in the vehicle. He was cited and released.

December 31st

Drug Arrest - Kearney Street / Blake Street:
At 0436 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 25-year-old San Francisco male for possession of methamphetamine. He was cited and released.
