Police Blotter December 8th through December 18th

December 8th

Robbery - BART Path to the rear of El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1801 hours officers responded to a reported robbery that had occurred. Upon arrival it was determined the victim was walking south on the BART path to the rear of Lucky and was approached by S-1 (unknown) and S-2 (unknown). They demanded her purse and fled westbound through the rear parking lot of Lucky and out of site. Both suspects described as black male adults, 20’s, wearing all dark clothing.

Shoplifting- (CVS) 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 1909 hours officers were sent to the business on a reported theft that had just occurred. Responding officers located a 26-year-old San Francisco man leaving the area. The man was in possession of the stolen property and was positively identified as having committed the theft. The man was transported to ECPD for processing and cite released.

Residential Burglary - 5200 block of Cypress Ave:
At 1929 hours the victim reported a burglary that had occurred there. Upon arrival it was determined the suspect(s) had made entry into the residence through an unsecured window. Once inside the suspect(s) stole electronics and money. Occurred between 0710-1820 hrs.

Residential Burglary - 900 block of Lexington Ave:
At 2209 hours the victim reported a burglary that had occurred there. Upon arrival it was determined the suspect(s) had made entry into the residence through an unsecured window. Once inside the suspect(s) stole jewelry and cash. Occurred between 0640-2205 hrs.

Narcotics Arrest, Warrant Arrest - S. 56th St / Potrero Ave:
At 0119 hours an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and contacted a 29-year-old Pittsburg man and determined he had two felony warrants. The man was also in possession of methamphetamine and a glass pipe. The man was transported to ECPD for processing. The man was cite released on the narcotics charges and booked MDF on the warrants.

December 9th

Warrant Arrest - Cutting Ave / EB I-80:
At 2337 hours an officer made a traffic stop and contacted a passenger, 57-year-old San Pablo female, and determined she had a misdemeanor warrant. She was cite released at the scene.

December 11th

Stolen License Plate - 400 block of Kearney St:
At 1626 hours, an officer responded to the report of a stolen license plate. The license plates for a 1996 Honda Civic were stolen in between 12/09/17 and 12/11/17. License plates reported as stolen were let in their place.

Strong Arm Robbery – BART Path / Central Ave:
At 2110 hours, the victim was walking northbound on the BART Path just north of Central Ave when he was approached by four juveniles; one of the suspects grabbed the victim from rear and placed him in a head lock, another then push the victim to the ground. Once on the ground, the first suspect and second suspect riffled through his pockets and took his wallet with $10 and his cell phone. The suspects then smashed the phone and threw it over a fence. They fled on foot northbound the BART Path.

Possession of Controlled Substance and Paraphernalia – San Pablo Ave / Potrero Ave:
At 2346 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 39-year-old female for possession of a controlled substance and a smoking device. She was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

December 12th

Shoplifter – (Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1316 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifter at Walgreens. The suspect, a black male, approximately 40-years-old wearing a green jacket and white shirt stole items and fled. An officer located him on a bicycle at S. 41st and Cutting Blvd. (S) fled through the park westbound and eluded capture.

Shoplifter – (Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1553 hours an officer responded to the report of a shoplifter at Walgreens. The suspect, a black male mid 20’s, dark gray jacket and jeans with a green tote bag, loaded up on deodorant products. He fled towards Del Norte BART.

Shoplifter – (Ross) 2000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1638 hours, an officer responded to Ross for a theft. A black female, 30-35 years old, 5-08, 160, black jacket, blue jeans with a red bicycle, was confronted by store employees for being intoxicated in the dressing room. The employees noticed the suspect concealed several purses in a plastic bag. The merchandise was retrieved by the employees. A jacket was also located with the sensor tag ripped off. The employees noticed the alarm activated when the suspect exited the store, but did not know if she stole any other merchandise.

Warrant Arrest – 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 2042 hours, an Officer investigated a suspicious vehicle and arrested a 39-year-old female from Oakland for two warrants. She was booked at the ECPD and then transported to county jail.

Indecent Exposure – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2142 hours, Officers responded to Safeway after a caller reported seeing a male masturbating in a red vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and located the vehicle and reporting party who advised the male may have entered Safeway. Officers located the subject, a 60-year-old male from Richmond in the business. The RP identified him as the male she saw walking away from the vehicle. The reporting party placed the male under citizen’s arrest and he was taken into custody. The male was booked and cited.

DUI – Tehama Ave / San Pablo Ave:
At 0428 hours, an officer observed an obviously impaired driver and initiated a traffic stop and arrested a 51-year-old male from Richmond for DUI. He was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

December 13th

Residential Burglary – 5200 block of School St:
At 0737 hours, officers responded to the report of an alarm. Upon arrival, they discovered that (S) Unknown shattered the rear window and made entry into residence. It didn’t appear as if anything was taken.

Shoplifter – (Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1118 hours, officers responded to the report of a shoplifting that had just occurred. The suspect, a 19-year-old male was located by an officer at the Del Norte BART station. He was identified, placed under citizen’s arrest, booked and released.

License plate theft - 11299 San Pablo Ave:
At 1323 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft of a license plate. The license plate from a gray 2016 Nissan Murano was stolen.

Vandalism - 6800 block of Stockton Ave:
At 1358 hours, an officer responded to the report of a vandalism. An unknown suspect threw a rock through the front window sometime on 12/12/17 between 1930 and 2030 hours.

Shoplifter – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1445 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifting that just occurred at Safeway. A 19-year-old Oakland man was placed under citizen’s arrest for shoplifting. He was also found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and in violation of his probation. He was booked and transported to the MDF.

Shoplifting – (CVS) 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 1724 hours, an officer responded to a suspicious person detail at CVS. A 26-year-old man and 26-year-old woman from Oakland had merchandise concealed upon their person which they dropped upon seeing officers. They also attempted to disassemble a shelving unit in order to access the electric toothbrushes and electric razors which were secured behind Plexiglas. One of the subjects was on probation for theft in both Contra Costa and Alameda County. They were placed under citizen arrest and booked at the ECPD.

Shoplifting – (CVS) 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 1730 hours, while dealing with the above mentioned persons, a 55year-old Richmond man attempted to leave the store with stolen merchandise. He was detained, placed under citizen arrest and transported to the ECPD for booking and released on citation.

Warrant Arrest – Potrero Ave / Eastshore Blvd:
At 2031 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a passenger, a 28-year-old female from Richmond on a Napa County Warrant. She was booked at the ECPD and then transported to MDF.

December 14th

Residential Burglary – 2700 block of Del Monte Ave:
At 1015 hours, Officer responded to the report of a garage burglary. An unknown suspect entered the open garage in between 1830 hours on 12/13/2017 and 0715 hours on 12/1/2017 and stole power tools.

December 15th

Shoplifting, Trespassing, Probation violation – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0701 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 21-year-old San Francisco after he stole property from the store. This violated the terms of his probation. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0800 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 25-year-old Pittsburg woman after she stole property from the store. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Public intoxication – 1600 block of Lexington Ave.
At 1316 hours, Officers were flagged down about a man on the ground in the dog park. Officers contacted a 39-year-old Richmond man and found that he was extremely intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The man was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant arrest – San Pablo Ave / Wall Ave:
At 1406 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 40-year-old San Pablo man for an outstanding warrant. The man was released at the scene.

Domestic Violence - San Pablo Ave / Central Ave:
At 2237 hours officers were sent to Church’s Chicken on a report of a victim that was at that location. Upon arrival the victim was contacted and it was determined that she and her boyfriend, a 38-year-old Richmond man, had a physical altercation inside of a vehicle, causing minor injury to the victim. The victim exited the vehicle and called the police, and the male drove away. The male was not located. An emergency protective order was obtained for the victim and she was transported to her residence.

December 16th

Battery – San Pablo Ave / Fairmount Ave:
At 1517 hours, officers responded for a battery that occurred. Officers contacted the victim who stated she was pushed by an acquaintance. Officers located the suspect, a 53-year-old El Cerrito man. The man was transported to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center by ambulance.

Shoplifting, Delaying and Obstructing an Officer - (Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1949 hours officers were sent to the business on a report of a theft that had just occurred. While en route an officer saw the suspect riding his bicycle west on Cutting Boulevard from S. 50th St. The suspect, a 50-year-old Richmond man, dropped the property he was carrying and fled from the officer on his bicycle. The man initially eluded capture but while officers were looking for him he returned to the property he had initially discarded and he was detained. The man was positively identified as the one who committed the theft. The man was arrested and booked into County Jail.

Warrant Arrest, Delaying and Obstructing an Officer - 11944 San Pablo Ave:
At 2022 hours an officer responded to a reported dispute between roommates. Upon arrival the officer contacted a 23-year-old El Cerrito man and determined he had a felony warrant. When the officers attempted to arrest the man, he became combative and resisted the officers who were trying to take him into custody. The man as was eventually subdued and arrested. The man was booked into County Jail.

Possession of Narcotics, Drug Paraphernalia - Potrero Ave / Elm St:
At 0120 hours an officer a traffic stop and contacted the driver, a 50-year-old Richmond man, and determined he was in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The man was transported to ECPD for processing and was cite released.

December 17th

Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of drug paraphernalia – Cutting Blvd / San Pablo Ave:
At 1429 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the passenger, a 31-year-old Richmond man for possession of methamphetamine and a pipe. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

December 18th

Auto burglary – 2200 block of Key Blvd:
Between 0300 and 0700 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s vehicle window and stole property.

Grand theft – (T-Mobile) 3030 El Cerrito Plaza
At 1230 hours, an unknown suspect entered the store and stole two IPhones and an IPad. The suspect is described as a black male adult, 25-30 years old, 5’8”, wearing a gray windbreaker and dark pants.

Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Warrant Arrest - Cutting Blvd / San Pablo Ave:
At 2246 hours an officer made a traffic stop and contacted the driver, a 50-year-old Richmond woman, and determined she was in possession of methamphetamine. A passenger, a 61-year-old Oakland man, was determined to have a misdemeanor warrant and was in possession of methamphetamine and a glass pipe. Both subjects transported to ECPD for processing. After booking the female was cite released from ECPD. The man was issued a citation for the on view violations and booked County Jail on the warrant.
