Winter Storm Watch until 12:00PM Friday

...Major Coastal Storm Possible Thursday and Thursday Night... .Low pressure will take shape east of Florida during the day Wednesday and then strengthen rapidly as it lifts north to a position off the New England coast on Thursday and into the Canadian maritimes Thursday night. This storm has the potential to bring heavy snow and strong winds...especially to coastal sections of Maine and New Hampshire where blizzard conditions are possible. Some uncertainty remains with regards to the exact track of this storm...so stay tuned to later updates. As this storm departs on Friday...bitterly cold air will arrive from Canada...along with strong northwesterly winds. ...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow and blowing snow possible. Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the evening commute on Thursday. Snowfall in excess of six inches is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of New Hampshire and western Maine.

* WHEN...From Thursday morning through Friday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow. Cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.
