Date: 12/29/17 Time: 2155 Beat: 23
Location: 3900 Plaza Bonita Center Way
Type: Hit and Run/Damage to City Property
Synopsis: On the listed date and time, numerous citizens called in a single vehicle traffic collision which occurred near the intersection of Plaza Bonita Center Way and Valley Road. While NCPD officers were responding to the scene, citizens reported seeing an unknown male adult running from the scene of the collision. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the vehicle (a white 1998 Mercedes Benz sedan) had driven up on the sidewalk on the east side of Plaza Bonita Center Way and collided into a street light. The street light fell to the ground partially blocking the roadway. No other vehicles were involved and it did not appear as if anyone was injured during the collision. A search of the area was conducted for the driver of the vehicle with negative results. Since the vehicle was registered out of San Diego, NCPD dispatch had SDPD officers check at the listed address, again with negative results. National City Public Works was notified and later responded to remove the down street light from the roadway.

Location: 1415 D Avenue
Type: Natural Death
Synopsis: On the listed date and time, NCFD officers responded to a call of CPR in progress at 1415 D Avenue. NCFD was already on scene when officers arrived, and advised a 60 year old National City resident was deceased. The resident suffered from numerous preexisting medical conditions. There were no signs of foul play or trauma to the decedent. The Medical Examiner provided officers with a waiver number. T.I.P.S. was notified and later responded to the scene.

Location: 927 Highland Ave.
Type: Police Vehicle Collision
Synopsis: On the above date and time, two NCPD marked vehicles were parked in front of the business located at 927 Highland Ave. Officers were investigating a report of a fight inside the nail and hair salon located at the above location. While Officers were speaking to witnesses, a red Ford SUV traveling northbound in the number two lane of Highland Ave. struck both police vehicles with its passenger side mirror. Both of the driver’s side mirrors on the police vehicles were damaged and the passenger side mirror of the SUV was torn off. The driver of the SUV, an 85 year old National City resident, pulled over and provided her information for the collision investigation. There were no injuries as a result of this collision.
