Hard Freeze Watch until 11:00AM Wednesday

...Several nights of bitterly cold conditions expected... .A cold front will push through the region Sunday ushering in an arctic airmass that will settle over the area Sunday night through Wednesday. Temperatures will drop into the lower 20`s across east Texas and central Louisiana Monday morning and into the mid teens Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Temperatures along the I-10 corridor will drop into the mid 20`s Monday morning and into the upper teens Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Afternoon highs will struggle to rise above freezing areawide Monday and Tuesday. ...HARD FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING... The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a Hard Freeze Watch, which is in effect from Sunday evening through Wednesday morning.

* TEMPERATURE...Monday Morning...19 to 21 degrees with wind chill values between 5 and 10. Tuesday morning...15 to 18 degrees with wind chill values between 5 and 10. Wednesday morning...14 to 18 degrees with wind chill values between 10 and 15.

* IMPACTS...Improper clothing and prolonged exposure to these conditions may result in hypothermia and frostbite. Exposed pipes and those along exterior walls will have the potential to freeze. Sensitive vegetation exposed to these temperatures will be killed.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ALLEN ... AVOYELLES ... BEAUREGARD ... EVANGELINE ... RAPIDES ... ST. LANDRY ... VERNON
