Navidad en el Barrio bringing Christmas cheer to children of inmates 
What: The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Navidad en el Barrio to ensure that dozens of children of incarcerated parents have a happy holiday. Sixteen mothers and fathers who are excelling in the Harris County Jail Reentry Program will get to spend time with their children as they open gifts.
Some will be seeing their children for the first time since birth. The gifts are being provided by Navidad en el Barrio, a non-profit that began serving Harris County’s less fortunate children in 1987 and now donates more than 10,000 gifts to children each year.
Who: Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez and staff will join Navidad en el Barrio volunteers to distribute gifts to 34 children of 16 inmates in the Harris County Jail Reentry Program.
