Dense Fog Advisory until 07:00AM Saturday

...DENSE SEA FOG EXPECTED TO DRIFT NORTH OVER LAND AREAS... .Elevated dewpoint readings well above nearshore water temperatures have resulted in development of dense sea fog over parts of Lake Pontchartrain, Lake Borgne, Lake Catherine and Mississippi Sound. Southerly flow will push the sea fog north over adjacent land areas through tonight. The immediate reduction in visibility will dangerous motorists traveling overnight. ...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CST SATURDAY... The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Dense Fog Advisory, which is in effect until 7 AM CST Saturday.

* VISIBILITY...one quarter mile or less at times.

* DURATION...much of the overnight hours into early Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...Areas of dense fog will significantly reduce visibility at times, which can result in hazardous travel conditions. The fog may be especially dense near and over bodies of water.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ST. TAMMANY

Instructions:

A Dense Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving...slow down... use your headlights...and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
