Good Friday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Thursday, 12/21/17.

-US 62/82 at Terry County line: Agency Assist. A deputy was dispatched to meet with a Terry County deputy to assist in transporting an individual closer to Lubbock. The deputy transported the individual to a business in Ropesville, at his request, to wait on a friend to pick him up.

-400 blk N Slaughter, Sundown: Fraud. A deputy met with a complainant regarding a possible credit card abuse case. The complainant wanted the information documented but decided against criminal charges at this time.

-FM 1585 at Flowline Rd, Sundown: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to the area to attempt to locate loose livestock. The area was checked and all livestock were observed to be secure.

-Clubview at College, Levelland: Agency Assist. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a subject that fled a location in the area. The area was checked and the subject was not located. Levelland PD is working the case.

-Hwy 114 at Sherman, Levelland: Agency Assist. A deputy was dispatched to assist with a call regarding shoplifting in the area. The deputy located the suspect and detained the individual until Levelland PD arrived. Case was handled by Levelland PD.

-Hwy 114 at Alamo, Levelland: Check Welfare. A deputy stopped to check status on a possible disabled vehicle in the area. The driver advised he ran out of gas and would move the vehicle when possible.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Found Property. A deputy retrieved a cell phone for an individual after receiving a complaint the phone was lost in the area. The phone was located and the complainant will retrieve the phone from our office.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Scam. Personnel received information about an “IRS Scam.” The information was collected and a call was placed to the scammer. Information was released yesterday regarding the incident.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population for 12/22/17 as of 0800 hours: 47 in Hockley County, 2 to be processed, 6 out of county.
